Why the 31-year-old industrial designer from Gunzburg is committed to the pro-European small party Volt and is campaigning for the vote as a direct candidate in the Neu-Ulm constituency.

Scotland and Sweden to the north, Malta to the south, Portugal to the west and Romania to the east. These are – broadly outlined – external signs of the area on which the Youth Volt Party operates. The party, founded in 2017 by Damien Hieronymus Johannes Freiherr von Boeselager (grandfather was a resistance fighter in Nazi Germany), sees itself as progressive, pragmatic and pan-European. Incidentally, Boeselager has been a member of the European Parliament for the Volt Europa since 2019. In addition, since March this year the Dutch section has moved to the second house with three (out of a total of 150) MPs. It is the more important of the two chambers of Parliament.
