How to Mark Atlantic Truth and Reconciliation Day

Canadians are invited to learn more about these people, to pay tribute to the survivors of residential schools, and to remember the impact these institutions had on them.

Before being designated National Truth and Reconciliation Day, September 30 was known as Orange Shirt Day since 2013 in honor of the story of Phyllis Jack. Canadians are again encouraged to wear orange clothing this year.

In the Atlantic provinces, many events take place and invite the public to participate. Here’s something.

new Brunswick

Some municipalities will give a statutory holiday to their employees, even though New Brunswick is different from other Atlantic provinces and will not grant a provincial holiday.
