The true accent of Duty star Martin Compston shone in a moment of football cheer on the set.
The 36-year-old actor took to Twitter to share a funny moment on the set where he disbanded the character of his role as DI Steve Arnott.
Despite playing Steve with a Southern England accent, the actor’s Scottish roots shone emotionally at the moment of football’s success for the Scottish national team as they qualified for Euro 2020.
In the clip, Martin is seen filming in his police car and is then heard asking for time for “two seconds”.

Born and raised in Greenock, Scotland, Martin himself had a brief professional football career for Greenock Morton FC after leaving school.
However, before winning the Most Promising Award at the British Independent Film Awards in 2002, his acting career for director Ken Loach’s film Sweet Sixteen was successful when he was selected.
Martin’s career has steadily increased since then, particularly for his popular role as Steve in Line of Duty.
