Tartan Senna celebrated across Britain after winning a point against England in their much-anticipated Euro 2020 clash last night.
And proud Scotsman Martin Compston was among them as he shared his joy after his side’s draw against England.
The Line of Duty star watched a Group D match from home with his wife Tiana Flynn and after Scotland excelled in a scoreless match, he took to his Instagram stories to express his happiness.
The 37-year-old from Greenock said: “Oh my god… it’s only a draw, but seeing as we were playing tournament favorites… come on!”
The actors started clapping and chanting the song for We Will Be Coming, before planting a kiss on TV screens when Scotland manager Steve Clarke appeared on the cover.
Martin shared a picture on Instagram and wrote: “Tartan’s true love”.
Martin, best known for playing Steve Arnott on Line of Duty, wrote on Twitter: “Sometimes I get a heart in my mouth, but the way McTominay and Gilmour get the ball into tight areas and from behind Play. The pressure is too much to watch.
“Almost a year later, it’s a beautiful thing to hear the whole city live through the window, which is what Euro and @ScotlandNT can do.”
He also hit back at a person on Twitter who was apparently “condescending” to him, but wrote it “condensation”, and continued: “Yeah, condescending but I smoke and not on the countdown, I’m Steve. I’m in Clark’s world. I only care issssssss. Yessssirr I can boogie if you sing some soong!!!!! [sic].’
Martin’s American wife Tiana also attended the ceremony, sharing a selfie of her and her husband – who usually live in Las Vegas – cheering on Scotland.

Before starting his acting career, Martin was actually a footballer and youth player with Aberdeen before signing for his local club Greenock Morton.
A video of Martin’s reaction to Scotland’s move to the Euros – the team’s first major tournament since the 1998 World Cup – following a penalty shootout with Serbia, has gone viral as the actor was running the line of duty at the time.
The hilarious moment saw Martin see shots on goal in a police car before jumping up and screaming, then sounding the horn in celebration.
There were many celebrities cheering on their teams at Wembley last night, whether it was David Beckham, Piers Morgan and Mel C supporting England, or Ian Sterling, Lorraine Kelly and Sir Rod Stewart cheering on Scotland.

Love Island narrator Ian tweeted “Son Coming Ham”, and called Billy Gilmour “the best player on the pitch”.
Next Tuesday it will be decided who will advance to the next round of Group D, with Scotland taking on Croatia and England taking on the Czech Republic.
As it stands, Scotland need a win over Croatia to hope to advance to the Round of 16.
If Scotland wins and England and the Czechs – currently both with four points each – draw, Scotland should be one of the four third-placed teams.
Meanwhile, England need at least one draw against the Czech Republic to secure their spot, as only one win will be enough to be group winners.
