In England, seven large immunization centers open on Monday, with more adherence during the week, announced the National Health Service NHS. As of mid-February, 13 million of the most vulnerable citizens in England have been offered vaccinations. This is two million more if you include Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

UK government medical adviser Chris Whitty said in an interview with the BBC that the next few weeks would be the “worst weeks” of the epidemic. Hospitals – particularly in London – were reaching their limits, and ambulances sometimes had to wait hours for patients to get to bed.
Last week in Great Britain there were over 600 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The number of deaths over the weekend exceeded 80,000 – and they are the only four who tested positive for the virus in the four weeks before dying.
