Press release in full:

Marc Anthony rose to fame as the first doppelganger to appear on Top of the Pops. The incredible resemblance earned him a lead role in the BBC-produced Prince documentaries. Mark not only looks like Prince, he in particular has convinced critics and fans with his brilliant voice that is strikingly similar to the original. The show is accompanied by impressive dance choreography, elaborately constructed costumes as well as sound effects and video sequences that are true to the original. A spectacular live band, Marc Anthony and top dancers perform the legend’s greatest hits on stage. This musical dedication to Prince, London’s first live concert show with music from the famed pop titan, delivers great entertainment.

Artist Prince achieved his international breakthrough in 1984 with the single and album Purple Rain for the film of the same name, in which he also played the lead. During his lifetime, more than 100 million of his records were sold worldwide and Prince won seven Grammy Awards, an Oscar in 1985 and a Golden Globe Award in 2007. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Prince was talented and headstrong, shaping an entire decade, breaking the boundaries of “black music” and becoming a role model for generations of pop musicians to find their way. Even today he is one of the most respected artists in the world. After sold-out concerts in the UK, Ireland and Scotland that were lauded by media and audiences alike, the breathtaking tribute to one of the greatest superstars of the past few decades is now on a major tour of Germany for the first time.
