Kiev. Ukrainian police on Wednesday detained a man who entered a government building in Kiev with a hand grenade and threatened to detonate him. According to the TASS agency, he faces up to 15 years in prison.

The first court hearing will take place tomorrow, the UNIAN agency informed.

According to the police, the man had the original grenade. Ultimately there were no casualties in this incident.

“He will be prosecuted on four counts, the most severe being Article 147 (on the detention of hostages). The fine is up to 15 years,” said Ihor Klymenko, the head of Ukraine’s national police.

Video of the incident was posted on Facebook by anti-corruption activist Ihor Bondarchuk. The man first stood at the door with a grenade in his hand, later entered the bottom.
