The tragedy of Macbeth will shut down the BFI London Film Festival

Sarah the tragedy of macbeth 65. the closing film^th BFI London Film Festival. The film, written and directed by Joel Coen, produced by A24 and Apple Original Films, will have its European premiere on Sunday 17 October at the LFF Gala venue at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre. Joel Coen will appear at the preview.

the tragedy of macbeth There is an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy and Joel Coen commented on the invitation to the festival:

“Shakespeare belongs to humanity but he hails from England. Having had the privilege of borrowing his cultural heritage and working with some of its most brilliant actors, I’d like to bring this film to the London Film Festival for its European premiere. I feel honored for it.”

Tricia Tuttle, Artistic Director of the BFI London Film Festival, says:

“We fell in love with Joel Coen’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Scottish tragedy. Set in a magical place halfway between theater and cinema, The Tragedy of Macbeth is an extraordinary production. Production Designer Stephen Dechant in Bruno Delbonnell’s Black and White K’s almost expressionist set and Carter Burwell’s soundtrack are captivating. And while the entire cast, which also includes many British talents, is excellent in its own right, Frances McDormand and Denzel Washington are hypnotized as the couple falls from their political ambitions in Us. Many people missed the big screen last year and based on an ancient storytelling tradition, this film is the perfect celebration to return to cinema, kick off the festival and welcome Joel Coen.”

BFI London Film Festival has already announced the opening film, Western as hard as they fall, and Jane Campion and the feast dedicated to her dog power.

The 65th BFI London Film Festival in partnership with American Express will run from Wednesday 6 October to Sunday 17 October 2021. The full schedule will be announced on September 7, 2021.
