Big change. WhatsApp will soon be running on your smartphone and tablet at the same time - MobilMania.cz

During July, the communication application WhatsApp launched the expected multi-device feature. This means that you can log into WhatsApp from multiple devices at the same time. The function appeared in the beta version of the application, but even then it was clear that it was only a half-solution. The multi-device function allowed you to log in to WhatsApp, for example, from the web or from the desktop application, but only one instance of the application is still applicable on mobile devices. But that too should change soon.

The Multi-Device 2.0 feature allows you to use WhatsApp on your smartphone and tablet on Android or iOS. What is still true is that WhatsApp will not work with two smartphones at the same time, which is the music of the future. However, tablet support is the first important step. The entire solution should work independently of the phone (so there is no need for a charged phone connected to the Internet as in the case of the WhatsApp desktop application), the new architecture will also take care of the final encryption of all your user data.

You’ll still need to connect your main mobile device to “additional” devices via a QR code, and a mandatory level of security will add mandatory biometric login. Users of the mobile application will have an overview of additional devices paired with the main application, as well as when they were last used. And through the application you will be able to log out of WhatsApp remotely from these devices. The Multi-Device 2.0 function should be added to the application with future beta updates. Subsequently, it is expected that it will be included in the commonly available version of the application.
