Qatar 2022 is drawing near. The first autumn World Cup will see 32 delegates last, pending the mid-North American edition with an expansion to 48 teams. In the next tournament, as usual, 13 European national teams will qualify.

However, only ten will go directly to the World Cup, thanks to first place in their respective qualifying groups: the remaining three will, in fact, go through the playoffs in which the best runners-up of the groups and the best of both Nations League teams will play.

Qatar will play all the runners-up from the European groups to advance to the World Cup. Along with the above ten, there is also room for the best two nation league nations that did not finish groups in the first two places.

When is the playoff drawing and how does it work?

The teams participating in the playoffs on November 26, 2021 at 5 pm will find out what their fate is: in Zurich, the six matches leading up to the 2022 World Cup will be decided.

For political reasons, some matches are not possible in the playoff path: however, given the lack of access to teams such as Azerbaijan, Gibraltar, Kosovo or Bosnia, no matches will take place in the play-offs.

The playoffs will be divided into three courses, A, B and C. There will be four teams each: the two semi-finalists from each path will have two qualified players who will play the final. Each of the three winners in the three finals will play the 2022 World Cup.

When are the European playoffs for Qatar 2022 playing?

Six semi-finals will be played on March 24 and 25, three finals on March 28 and 29. Whoever finishes best in the qualifiers will play the semi-finals at home, while the draw will decide who will play the final at home.
