Barcelona Dragons sanctify ex-NFL-kicker Giorgio Tavecchio

Munich – New signing in the European League of Football. The Barcelona Dragons have reinvented themselves with kicker Giorgio Tevecchio. According to the team, the Italian will play for the Dragons for the rest of the ELF season.

The 30-year-old was already under contracts with six NFL teams. That’s why he wore the jerseys of the 49ers, Packers, Lions, Raiders, Falcons and Titans.

Most successful times with the Raiders

His most successful time was with the Raiders. The franchise offered him a contract three times, but also fired him three times. He only managed to jump into the practice squad on the fourth attempt, and later joined the active squad after regular kicker Sebastian Janikowski was injured.

He played his first NFL game in September 2017 against the Titans, sank all four field goals and two extra points. An achievement that earned him the NFL Special Teams Player of the Week Award.

By the end of the season he had converted 33 of 34 extra points and 16 of 21 field goal attempts. However, after signing Mike Nugent, Tavecchio was fired the following August.

The Italian also had a chance at the Falcons and after a decent performance, including a converted 56-yard field goal, won the Special Team Award again. But there too he was dismissed after signing another kicker.
