Brendan Boucher started the men’s curling world championships on Friday as he led Canada to a 9-6 win over Scotland.
The hosts of the tournament, which is to be played in Calgary, will return in the evening with a clash against Japan.
Boutcher’s team trailed by three points after five ends, but they responded with two points at the sixth, seventh and ninth ends. He stole a point to end the meeting.
The competition takes place behind closed doors with no supporters present.
