Chelsea star Billy Gilmour to pick Norwich over Rangers for Premier League experience as Jamie O’Hara teases ally McCoist with another Scottish football pop

Jamie O’Hara just can’t resist a Scottish football dig, can he?

His previous comments ranged from labeling Bournemouth bigger than Rangers, the argument that Fulham would win the Scottish Premier League and the fact that both Old Firm sides are fighting for survival if they were in the Premier League.

The final topic of debate was the future of Chelsea and Scotland star Billy Gilmour, with Celtic and Rangers diehard Allen Brazil and all-rounder McCoist.

Norwich are trying to secure a one-season loan for the 20-year-old midfielder, who impressed in Tartan Senna’s 0-0 draw against England at Euro 2020 before being ruled out of deviation by a positive COVID test.

However, the Daily Record claims that after leaving his academy for Stamford Bridge in 2017, Rangers may try to bring Gilmour back to Ibrox for the 2021/22 campaign.

Gers legend McCoist asked the former Tottenham O’Hara midfielder where Gilmour should go – and he got the answer he was hoping for.

Gilmour has impressed at the highest level for Chelsea but will struggle to enter his star-studded midfield for now

O’Hara said: “Norwich or Rangers? I would say Norwich for Premier League football.

“Premier League football is a lot better than a good four games in a season and being out of the Champions League.

“Norwich is better than Gilmour’s Rangers.”

And McCoist replied, “I asked the question knowing exactly what the answer was!”
