Court weighs in on opening Trump money laundering probe in Scotland

Scotland’s highest court heard an argument about opening a money laundering investigation into Donald Trump’s finances.

Trump may be the subject of a money laundering investigation in Scotland.

The Scotsman explained:

A forensic review of the Scottish government’s refusal to pursue an unexplained funding order (UWO) in the former US president’s cases found that funding for Mr Trump’s golf resorts was ‘funneled out of unlimited money elsewhere outside the UK’ Was.

….

The so-called “McMafia” order allows officials to target allegedly corrupt foreign officials who have potentially laundered stolen money through the UK. Civil power is designed to compel property owners to disclose their wealth. If a civil servant or his family cannot prove the legitimate source of his property, the authorities can move the court to confiscate the property.

Trump may be forced to explain where his money is coming from.

Trump’s calculations for his Scottish golf courses don’t add up, and many suspect Trump is laundering money through golf courses. Any investigation that forces Trump to disclose the true sources of his funding could be disastrous, both at home and abroad.

Donald Trump’s fragile paper empire is being scrutinized from all sides. New York City and state officials are investigating his business. Officials in Washington, DC are investigating the possible channeling of significant 2016 money into Trump’s cases, and those investigations do not include an investigation into the January 6 attack and Trump’s attempt to reverse the election.

Trump’s decades of obscure math are catching up with him, and the world may soon discover the truth about Donald Trump and his potentially dirty money.
