Germany gets convinced after Lo’s resignation announcement

Joachim Low’s farewell tour began with a 3–0 win against Iceland following his announced resignation in the summer. Leon Goretzka met in Duisburg in the first seven minutes after preliminary work by Kimmich and Leroy Sane in conjunction with Bayern teammates Joshua Kimich and Serge Gnabry and Kai Havert. After the break, Ilkay Gundogan surged from afar.

While England started off easy to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with a 5–0 win against San Marino, England’s first challenger Poland in Hungary struggled 3: 3 after two defeats. Robert Lewandowski scored at least one point in the 83rd minute in the first game under Basel’s former coach Paulo Sousa.
