(Glasgow) Patrick Schick felt the goalkeeper was too far out of his cage and made a long lobbying strike shortly after crossing midfield that allowed him to double his team’s lead.
Schick scored both goals for the Czech Republic on Monday in a 2-0 win over Scotland at the European Soccer Championship. However, this is his second target which we will see in the next few days.
Scotland lost its right when a strike was blocked which resulted in the rise of the schick. Bayern forward Leverkusen raised his head and saw goalkeeper David Marshall too far from his net. So he decided to do a very long coiled strike that ended up at the bottom of his cage.
Marshall tried to return to his position quickly, but the balloon flew over him before the ropes could move. The Scottish Cerberus found himself entangled in the ropes at the end of his frantic run.
Schick and his comrades gathered in a corner of Hampden Park, where dozens of Czech fans were happily feasting.
According to UEFA, it is the longest goal scored in this tournament at 49.7 metres. The previous record of 38.6 m was set by German midfielder Torsten Fring at Euro 2004.
The Czechs climbed to the top of Group D with three points, and they broke the Scots, who have returned to a major men’s tournament for the first time since the 1998 World Cup.
Scotland will face England in London on Friday, while the Czech Republic will face Croatia in Glasgow.
