Freiburg win in stadium farewell against Augsburg - Football - International

SC Freiburg bid goodbye to the sixth Bundesliga match day with a 3–0 win against FC Augsburg at home Dresmstadion.

In the last game before moving to the new Europa-Park stadium, Christian Streich’s team put on a solid and efficient performance in front of 14,400 spectators. Kubler made it 1-0 in the sixth minute with a dust extractor. Holler defeated FCA keeper Gikiewicz 2–0 (25th).

In the 34th minute, the referee points to the penalty spot after a handball by Fraimberger-Griffo. The game fell a bit flat in the second half, with Günter missing the best chance (66th).

With their third win of the season, Freiburg moved up to fifth, with Dortmund on points (12) and one point behind Leverkusen and Wolfsburg. By remaining unbeaten in the sixth round, the Freiburg team also set a new starting record in their Bundesliga history.

Augsburg, who suffered a setback a week after their first success of the season against Borussia Mönchengladbach (1–0) without OFB team striker Michael Gregoritsch, slipped to 15th place. Philipp Leonhardt plays in Freiburg.
