Black Friday is a famous event on Amazon. Furthermore, if the US platform has largely exported and developed the concept in France, it only represents a small part of this operation. AliExpress is trying to ambush itself with a withdrawal period that climbs up to 20 days on most of its references. He hardly attends Black Friday at the end of the month: he focuses exclusively on his Singles Day which starts on 11 and ends on November 12.
Will Single Day topple Black Friday?
Globally, Singles Day is already Black Friday – and by now. Alibaba’s revenue on the biggest day of the year (Prime Day) is 10 times that of Amazon. In France, the giant Amazon is better known than its Asian competitor. That said, AliExpress is going to be a hit, with offers showing up on Singles Day on November 11th.
While the discounts on AliExpress are exceptionally aggressive, there are a few things worth knowing. First, the catalog is quite different from the catalog you have on Amazon on Black Friday. The best offers mainly target products from reputable Asian brands: Samsung, Xiaomi or OnePlus slashed prices during Single Day – something we’d never see on a merchant site like Amazon.
Due to its Asian origin, AliExpress is able to negotiate the best discounts with local manufacturers. In addition, the calculated discount on products sold on AliExpress is basic: it is necessary to add all instant discounts, coupons and possible codes. During Black Friday, Amazon revealed thousands of offers on the same day which surprised everyone. AliExpress works differently because offers are already visible.
