Coachella Valley Firebirds Will Be 32nd Next SeasonI The American Hockey League (AHL) was formed and the Seattle Kraken would serve as the school club.
The expansion crew’s colors and logo were unveiled Friday at a ceremony in Palm Desert, Calif. We can see a red and orange colored bird with its wings spread out, breathing fire. The mythical beast’s eye is painted blue to recall the colors of the Kraken.
“While it is said that the Kraken hides under the dark and deep sea, it is said that the Firebird emerges from the flames of the desert to soar high. With this in mind, the Firebirds embody the Yin Yang of the Kraken , which complement each other – fire and ice, sea and desert,” reads the new formation’s website.
Construction of the Firebirds Arena, which will seat 9,918, is expected to be completed in October 2022 and the club could make its AHL debut at the start of the 2022–2023 season.
This year, Kraken is temporarily affiliated with the Charlotte Checkers, AHL, and shares the squad with the Florida Panthers.
