Second Division representative Watford won 3–0 in the penalty shoot-out, with Bachmann already leading his team 1–1 with a superb save after 120 minutes. Coach Vladimir Evic said, “Daniel Watford has a future and he will play a lot this season.”

In Presiden, 26-year-old Bachmann was mostly not in the squad of the then Premier League club. This year the goalkeeper was also the target of the “Hornets” in two FA Cup games, giving way to veteran Ben Foster on the first day of the championship.

Bachman moved to Watford in the summer of 2017 after six years in Stoke City, but was on loan to Kilmarnock FC in Scotland in the 2018/19 season.
