Mourinho rejects and agrees to offer the best British club

José Mourinho declined his first job offer a week after being sacked by Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho reportedly turned down the offer, stating that he was not ready to return to management at this time.

Sunday Times football reporter Duncan Castles claimed that the Scottish giants had turned down Celtic’s Portuguese offer, telling them that he was not yet ready to return to the game.

The 58-year-old Mourinho was sacked by Spurs president Daniel Levy last Monday, less than a week before the final of their Carabao Cup against Manchester City, in which they lost 1–0.

And Celtic were one of the teams that allegedly called the ex-Chelsea boss to manage their squad

“To the best of my knowledge, the first of those approaches came from Celtic Football Club, which needed a major change in direction,” Duncan quoted the Transfer Window podcast as saying.

The Steven Gerrard-directed Rangers need to change their fortunes to return to the top of the field in Scotland after the away Scotland title.

“I understand his reaction to this Celtic approach – not ready for a coach anymore. There were other offers.
