The fourth and final casualty has been taken and the EC Bad Nauheim team is complete: Jerry Polastro will wear the Red Devil jersey in the coming DEL2 season and the number 36 on his back. “Jerry is a strong sprinter, he is a team player and he has a lot of experience,” head coach Harry Lang said of the winger.

The American born on March 10, 1986 in Revere, Massachusetts, has an impressive career. Polastrone ran for the University of New Hampshire from 2006 to 2009. It was then turned to ECHL. There were Las Vegas Wranglers, South Carolina Stingrays and Bloomington Blaze stops before Jerry moved to Europe at the age of 26.

First he played for Holland (Friesland Flyers), then in Scotland (Dundee Stars), Sweden (Mora IK), Italy (Bozen) and finished in Vienna in 2016. With the Vienna Capitals he celebrated the 2016/2017 championship in the Alpine League, coincidentally with Taylor Weiss, whom he will now meet again in Bad Nauheim.

Polestrone has been under contract at Villach for the past three seasons, so of course he knows newcomer Kevin Schmidt very well. “Taylor and Kevin have encouraged us to sign Jerry,” confirms Harry Lang.

The question still remains as to which funding license players from associate partner, Kölner Hahn, will join EC Bad Nauheim’s line-up. Harry Lang: “We have to be patient here. Of course we are in constant contact with the sharks and await a verdict.”
