Munich, Düsseldorf car maker ceo vw, Oliver Bloom prepares to restructure the company architecture. Core should be a new software strategy that keeps the group fit for the future. Bloom intends to present key points of the strategy at a supervisory board meeting on December 15, Handelsblatt learned from corporate circles.

Blume replaced Herbert Diess at the helm of VW in early September. He had to leave because, among other things, he could not solve the group’s software problems. Accordingly, Bloom is aware of the height of the object’s fall. The top priority for him now is the restructuring of future projects.

In mid-November, Bloom had already canceled the “Trinity” project for the time being. New car software was to be introduced to the group, with the model originally planned for 2026. Instead, Bloom is now prepping VW to keep existing software competitive through the end of the decade. According to information from Handelsblatt, it alone cost more than one billion euros. VW did not comment on this.
