Ober-Grafdorf - name change: Schubert now under a new name

In December, the Ober-Grafdorf company Schubert Elektronlagen changed its name to “Schubert Cleantech”. “We want to take our DNA to the outside world: sustainable technologies for electricity and water,” says managing director and owner Claus Benedict, explaining the name change.

“We use every opportunity to use sustainable products in all areas.”

Last year’s operating performance was around 30 million Euros. Up to 80 percent of sales come from electrical engineering for renewable energy, such as wind power or photovoltaics. The company would like to continue focusing on this area in the future. “Climate change is clear,” says Benedict. That’s why he wants to contribute to fast-tracking the energy transition.

“We use every opportunity to use sustainable products in all areas,” assures the owner. The use of climate-harming sulfur hexafluoride gas (SF6) will soon be a thing of the past. In addition, the high demand for renewable energy allows orders to be declined.

At the same time, there is also a shortage of skilled workers. “We need many more employees who want to work on the energy transformation,” reports Benedict. The company employs 200 people, and will need about 20 more. The new name is therefore also intended to appeal to young people.

The company also implements its sustainable philosophy in its own headquarters: oil heating was replaced by an air heat pump and a PV system with 200 kW of PV was installed on the roof. The company is also currently switching to e-cars and will build a photovoltaic carport in February.
