Slavia Prague defender Ondrej Kudela has been suspended by UEFA for ten matches, accusing him of racist insults by a Glasgow Rangers player in a 16-second Europa League round in March. Rangers player Glenn Kamara, who was disgraced with the Czech Rangers, was also suspended.
A few months after the controversy of a Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbul Basasir, the case involving Ondrej Kudela caused a stir a month ago. On 18 March, Slavia Prague overcame the Glasgow Rangers on their turf in the 16-second round of the Europa League (1–1, 2–0), after the Czech club defender was accused of racist insults.

10 suspension games for Kudela
The meeting ended in chaotic situations after Rangers midfielder Glenn Kamara accused Ondrej Kudela of calling him a “monkey”. A fight was triggered between the players of the two teams and Rangers coach Steven Gerrard, “telling UEFA not to act and to do it all under the carpet.”
The former Reds legend is heard. The next day of the match UEFA opened an investigation. And this Wednesday, the body directing the European body announced the suspension of Kudela for ten matches due to “racist behavior”, as well as a suspended sentence. The Slavia player has always refused to make racist remarks against Kamara, since the beginning of the affair.

Other Ranger players are yet to hear these insults from the Czech defender. UEFA also indicated Kamara’s three-game suspension for “aggression”. The Rangers midfielder would have physically assaulted Kudela in the Ibrox Stadium tunnel after the match. Slavia Prague, which denied any discriminatory remarks, also filed a complaint against Kamara after the match.
At the end of this meeting, this season the Scottish champions, Glasgow Rangers left the Europa League, while Slavia Prague qualified for the quarter-finals. After their draw in the first leg on Arsenal’s lawn, the Czechs are in a good position to qualify before the return which is scheduled to take place on Thursday (9pm on RMC Sport 2.).
