NNew York (AP) – In the NHL, players from the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers clashed shortly after the game began.

The final duel between the two ice hockey teams was preceded by a skirmish between Rangers from Capitals pros Tom Wilson and Artemi Panarin, with the result that the Russians were unable to continue. When the league fined Wilson, but not the suspension, the Rangers wrote a letter about the verdict – and immediately fought back in 2: 4 in the first few seconds.

Meanwhile, six players from the Capitol who turned violent without hesitation were in the penalty box at the same time. «I think it was good. We tried to stand up for our partner. According to AP news agency, Ranger defender Brendan Smith said, it was a good response.

It was a turbulent day for the Rangers anyway. The organization fired President John Davidson and manager Jeff Gorton before the home game.

Among the German professionals in the National Hockey League, only Tim Stutzl could hope for a win. The Senators of Ottawa defeated the Montreal Canadiens 5–1. Nico Sturm lost with the Minnesota Wild after extra time 2: 3 against the Vegas Golden Knights. National goalkeeper Philip Grubauer led 2–0 with Colorado Avalanche and lost 3–2 to the San Jose Sharks. With the Avalanche and Wild both already qualified for the playoffs, the Senators have no chance.
