The organization of the Drummondville Voltigeurs, through their Managing Director Philippe Boucher, announced the signing of first round pick, 11th overall, Matteo Rotondi on Wednesday morning.
The 6-foot, 195-pound left-handed defenseman plays with the varsity U18 from Rothesay Netherwood School, near St. John’s, New Brunswick. Rotondi scored 1 goal in 11 games in addition to adding 6 assists for 7 points.
“Matteo Rotondi is a tall, thick defender who has excellent maneuverability. He is very dynamic in possession of the puck and it is very difficult to play against him in his field. Which makes him a very complete defender both offensively and defensively,” said Jean-Sebastien Peron, head recruiter.
