Football fans are getting pumped for the Euros this year, especially after COVID-19 lockdowns shut the tournament down last summer. Despite the raging pandemic, the 24-team tournament is all set to begin on June 11 and run through July 11. The teams have been set, the groups have been drawn, and the host cities have signed on – here’s your all-inclusive guide to Euro 2021.

Euro 2021 Groups and the Most Exciting Games

Groupings for Euro 2021 have been drawn. The 24 teams and their respective groups are:

  • Group A: Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Wales
  • Group B: Belgium, Russia, Denmark, Finland
  • Group C: Ukraine, Netherlands, Austria, North Macedonia
  • Group D: England, Croatia, Czech Republic, Scotland
  • Group E: Spain, Poland, Sweden, Slovakia
  • Group F: Germany, France, Portugal, Hungary

The Most Anticipated Starting Games

While the entire tournament is something to get super excited about this year, there are a few starting games that you won’t want to miss.

The Opening Game – Turkey vs. Italy on June 11: Not only is it the opening game for the tournament, but it’s Turkey’s first appearance in a big tournament in over two decades. The only four Euro opening games they’ve ever played, they lost, and they haven’t been able to beat Italy in any of their last ten encounters.

Denmark vs. Finland on June 12: This historical game will see the Finland men’s team play its first major tournament in 110 years.

England vs. Scotland on June 18: If the history and politics between England and Scotland aren’t enough to get you psyched about seeing them face off in this tournament, the history behind the football teams should do it. England’s second game in the last Euro the country hosted was against Scotland in 1996. This tournament is also the first time that Scotland is making a Euro appearance since that day in history.
