Kochi: Kerala’s leading telecom operator VK Singh has launched e-SIM facility for postpaid customers using digital SIM phones. This feature is available on various models of Apple and Samsung mobile phones, from the Google Pixel 3A to the Motorola Razr.
VE-SIM is now available in Kerala, Mumbai, Gujarat, Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, UP East, Kolkata, Maharashtra and Goa. Wii postpaid users who use e-SIM compatible phones will no longer need to insert a normally used SIM card into the phone to access the network.
The e-SIM comes in the form of an integrated SIM chip that is compatible with all mobile network operators that support digital SIM. E-SIM allows the customer to access calls, SMS, data and other facilities without changing their standard SIM card.
Vodafone Idea Kerala-Tamil Nadu Cluster Business Head, S.S. Murali said. He added that the company believes that e-SIM will provide a better experience as it enables users to do more with their phones.
Existing customers can avail e-SIM facility through simple procedures. Firstly type eSIM (after leaving space) email id and send SMS to 199 (eSIM
Customers will receive an SMS to 199 if the e-mail is valid. You need to reply to this message as ESIMY to confirm the e-SIM request. You will then receive an SMS asking for your confirmation along with the phone call. After giving your consent by phone call, you will receive an e-mail with a QR code and a registered mail ID. You can scan the QR code and follow the instructions to activate the e-SIM.
New customers of V can visit the nearest V Store with ID card and photo to get the e-SIM. It is advisable to carry the handset with you as it will speed up the scanning of the activated QR code. The QR code sent through e-mail can be used for scanning only once. The e-SIM will be activated within two hours of scanning the code.
