FTo the increase in energy prices, the government responded with its “tariff shield” and an “inflation allowance” of 100 euros for 38 million French people. In its latest economic report published on Tuesday, December 14, INSEE calculated the bill per household for rising energy prices prior to these measures. In October 2021, the monthly bill increased by an average of 30 euros compared to November 2019. Half of this increase is explained by rising gas prices. Eight euros are due to increase in oil prices.
Compared to December 2020, the month when prices and consumption began to rise again sharply after a low point linked to travel restrictions, the increase appears to be much higher…
