Fifteen du Chardon won their match against the Wallabies at Murrayfield (15-13) on Sunday. Stuart Hogg and his teammates resisted Australian pressure late in the match.
In the midst of a first act marked by hand errors and guesses, the Scots took advantage thanks to a power test scored by third-rower Hamish Watson (22nd, 7–0). The Australian awakening was swift at the start of the second half: Rob Liotta dived into a wide in-goal from Murrayfield (45th, 7-10) to put his team in the lead.
this is Scotland’s third consecutive win over Australia, The Caledonians had dominated the Wallabies in their last two clashes in 2017 (19–24 and 53–24).
Driven by an enthusiastic crowd, the Scots took control of the game with a brilliant action completed by Evan Ashman at the end of the line (59th, 12-10). Scorers James O’Connor and Finn Russell then engaged in a duel of fine triggers, eventually winning the racing opener.
The fifteenth Chardon will face South Africa (2 pm) before hosting Japan on the following Saturday, 20 November (2 pm). The Wallabies are yet to face England at Twickenham (November 13, 6:30 pm) and Wales at the Millennium Stadium (November 20, 6:30 pm).
