Midfielder John Flick will be included in Steve Clarke’s squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Russia and San Marino in Scotland on Tuesday.
Flick, 28, will receive a major international call-up for the third time after some impressive performances by newcomers to the Premier League, Sheffield United.
He was to play against Cyprus and Belgium in June, but was not available as he was getting married.
Scotland visits Russia on 10 October and hosts San Marino three days later.
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney was also included for the double header.
Tierney, 22, has played only once since leaving Celtic on a £25million contract in August, making his first Carabao Cup appearance at Nottingham Forest last week after undergoing a double hernia operation in May.
The left-back, who scored 12 international caps, was not with Arsenal in the Premier League on Monday. Manchester United draw.
Scotland are fifth in Group A after two wins and four losses in their first six matches, while Russia is second on 15 points, three points behind Belgium.
However, even if their chances of qualifying in the group are reduced, they could still reach the finals during next year’s play-offs after winning the Nations League group last year.
