Madeleine McCann’s investigation leads UK police to a new suspect

A picture released by the McCann family on May 24, 2007 shows missing British girl Madeleine McCann on May 3, 2007.

McCann disappeared while sleeping in her family’s vacation apartment in 2007, in a case that has since attracted media attention in the UK. It has never been found. There is a £ 20,000 (about $ 25,000) reward for information leading to the conviction of those responsible for his disappearance.

The new suspect is a man currently imprisoned in Germany for an unrelated matter, British Metropolitan Police said.

Strength did not identify the man but described him as a 43-year-old white man. He periodically lived in the Algarve region of southern Portugal between 1995 and 2007, when McCann passed away.

“It is connected to the Praia da Luz area and surrounding regions and has spent a few short periods in Germany,” said the police.

“It has been more than 13 years since Madeleine disappeared and none of us can imagine what her family should be like, not knowing what happened or where she is”

“After the ten-year anniversary, the Met received information about a German man who was known to have been to Praia da Luz and the surrounding area. We have worked with colleagues in Germany and Portugal and this man is a suspect of the disappearance of Madeleine, “Chief Inspector Mark Cranwell said in a statement Wednesday.

Police also revealed details of two cars that the suspect had access to and which he used during the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

They asked the public to present any information on the vehicles. They also inquired about two cell phone numbers, one of which is believed to have been used by the suspect on the day of Madeleine’s disappearance.
