Scottish midfielder Murray Davidson has extended his one-year contract with St Johnstone. The 33-year-old remains at the club after a successful season that saw his team advance to the final Scottish Cup.

Murray Davidson has been at McDiarmid Park since 2009 and will be there until the summer of 2022. He is Callum Davidson’s first choice in midfield and is well-liked by club supporters. Murray Davidson has said he is pleased with his new expansion at Club St. “I think everyone knows what St. Johnstone means to me. It’s great to have my contractual situation settled. The new one-year contract is great and I thank the President, the Board of Directors and Scott Boyd for that.” He gave me a chance to be here for the next season. Also, the manager and all his staff have done a great job with the team this season. As players, we couldn’t have asked for more from any of them,” the official said. Murray Davidson also spoke about the Scottish Cup final, which will take place on 22 May between St Johnstone and Hibernian FC. “I am now completely focused on the Scottish Cup final on Saturday. I want to be in this and it is going to be the biggest match of my career. It has been well documented over the years that I missed the 2014 Scottish Cup final and League Cup final this season due to injury. Now I hope there will be no setbacks this week and I will be available for selection,” said Murray Davidson.
