The Netherlands and Scotland shared a 2-2 partnership at the Estadio Algarve in Faro, Portugal on Wednesday in preparation for the Euros.

In Scots, Steve Clarke did without John Fleck, who tested positive for the coronavirus, and six players who had close contact with the Sheffield United midfielder. Oranje began the game carefully but after the loss of the ball to Memphis Depay, Ostendis’ Jack Hendry opened the scoring for the team at Le Chardon (11th, 0–1). Depay quickly redeemed himself from his mistake on the serve from Georginio Wijnaldum (17th, 1-1). The Dutch retained possession of the ball (66% in the first period) but played mostly in their camp.

Little changed during the meeting except when the Scottish coach made a triple change (61st) with Kevin Nisbet, giving Tartan Army (64th, 1–2) the lead. At the end of the game, Depay scored twice on a free kick (89th, 2–2).

In the Euros, the Netherlands (Group C) will face Ukraine, Austria and North Macedonia. Scotland have moved into Group D along with Czechia, England and Croatia.
